Mechanical Inspector
SUMMARY: Inspects materials and products by performing the following duties:
- Perform receiving functions including dimensional, visual and functional inspection - Process and maintain documentation - Reject defective parts, and mark type of defect - Complete simple to moderately complicated First Articles - Participate in validations of complex and critical components and subassemblies - Perform moderate to complex In-Process and Final Inspections
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Interpret and apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing - Interpret and apply moderate visual criteria such as surface finishes and coatings - Interpret and verify compliance to simple and moderately complex assembly drawings - Interpret and apply requirements from applicable ANSI specifications - Verify electrical components in accordance with specification requirements - Ability to use Gauge Blocks - Ability to use the Precision Surface Plate to determine conformance - Ability to use multiple inspection tools such as Pin Gauges in combination with the Surface Plate - Ability to calibrate simple to moderately complex inspection aids, tooling and fixturing - Advanced use of the Optical Comparator - Good writing and communication skills - Able to work independently
